Overview

TypeForChange.org is an online platform using typography as an instrument for social change. Type For Change Web site enables like-minded individuals and organizations to create and share socially and environmentally conscious type-related products, including digital fonts, t-shirts, posters, and other merchandise items.

Objectives

  design initiatives
  to communication professionals
• Support emerging talents
• Establish a free marketplace between type designers and consumers
• Contribute to like-minded organizations (i.e. Amnesty International, Greenpeace)

Business Model

Type for Change encompasses a non-profit /
for-profit hybrid model:

• Fonts submitted by contributors will be available to the public free of charge
• Merchandise items (t-shirts, posters)
  will be available for purchase on the Merchandise section
• Proceeds are split between the creator,
  a non-profit organization, and the Web site, in order to cover not just administrative costs, but also to sustain new initiatives
